Paris and Their Many Cafés
Paris, the city of love...and coffee (and cheese, and wine, and baguettes...)
Coming to this city without enjoying a gourmandise adventure is the same as going to Rome and not seeing the Pope.Paris is known for their cheese, wine, baguette but also cafés! And trust me, after 4 months living here I can say as a fact, there is one in every corner and I will list the ones that I had the chance to try.
1. Café de Flore (image above)
Where? 172 Boulevard Saint-Germain, 6th.
What to order? A classic hot chocolate: an intensely-flavoured jug of thick, warming cocoa.
2. Les Deux Magots
Where? 6 Place Saint-Germain-des-Prés, 6th.
What to order? Stick to a filter coffee and order milk on the side.
3. Café Marlette
Where? 63 Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, 9th.
What to order? An almond financier and a filter coffee.
4. Café Kitsuné
Where? Louvre Museum.
What to order? Desserts range from seasonal fruit to Dorayaki pancakes, while a coffee or espresso, with beans hailing from Costa Rica and France, can make for a classic pairing. Those are all the cafés that I had the chance to visit so far, but I will keep you guys posted as the list grows!
